Birthday at Plaza Sing....

Firstly.... thx to all who rushed all the way to Plaza Singapura on a weekday evening after work to cut cake with me... ^^ Even though the food that i intro-ed was god-damned awful.

Kudos to Seashell, who went all the way to Bukit Timah to pick up the cake she ordered.

To YT for arriving early despite busy work day where she had to travel around.

To Kenny for rushing to PS with us right after work with no break

To Bao-bei who also rushed with us after work with only enough time to change clothes

Introduced Ice Monster to my pals... the crushed ice topped with large helpings of fresh fruit and a big scoop of sherbet ice cream was famous there... Went to the basement of Plaza Singapura and sat right down to order the food. I ordered the Taiwan Beef Brisket Noodles there. Tasted it once n thought it was downright delicious.
Was totally disappointed. The prev time i tried the noodles the beef was downright delicious. Just a poke with the chopsticks and the beef brisket would break apart into soft delicious pieces, giving the soup flavour. There was also some delicous preserved vegetables that gave the soup a light salty flavour when stirred.

Instead it was totally soaked in oil. The beef was hard, overcooked and we could see all the fatty parts and ligaments in it. The soup was too salty. The Za Jiang Mian also came soaked in oil.
The Za Jiang Mian: (all the shiny liquid is oil... not water or sauce...)

The beef brisket noodles with overcooked beef floating in oily soup. dont ask me why the oil is brown... i don't know =(

The guo-tie (gyoza) came... in oil again... it was too salty and was served severely lacking one item. A sauce to dip in. First time i ate gyoza in a restaurant that served neither mayonnaise, shoyu nor vinegar with the gyozas. We realised there was a sauce corner for self-service.... which was abuzz with house-flies. Talk about turn-off.

Finally, we were about to be served the food that made Ice Monster famous enough to be featured in TV. The ice. The moment the 2 bowls of ice touched the table, the waitress declared: 60 dollars. In her china accent. =.=''' talk abt lousy service. we understand that the restaurant did not collect 10% service charge... but it didn't mean that she could be downright RUDE

The bowl of mixed fruit ice with a scoop of mango sherbet on top. It looked good....
Until we tasted it. Poor Kenny was the one who ordered it.... The strawberries were totally sour and unripe... the only thing that tasted worse was the kiwi fruit. Poor Seashell who was looking forward to her fav kiwi fruit... The kiwi was too ripe and on the verge of spoiling; it tasted wierd and bitter. The only edible thing was the mango, which was sweet and came in creamy mango sauce too.

The mango and durian ice which made Ice Monster famous. This is the only thing worth eating at the tiny restaurant.

Whilst we were eating dessert, my bro and his grp of 7 frenz came into Ice Monster and plopped their butts down at the other corner of the (ahem...) restaurant... and started flipping through the menu. So I motioned him to come over and gave him a piece of kiwi fruit... haha... he immediately blanched. I went over to his pals (consisting of 1 girl, 1 tomboy, 1 tiko-guy, 1 tall guy (Si-ee), 1 formally-dressed guy i didn't know, another 2 boys... all from his church centre MCYC) we strongly recommended dat they move to another restaurant for food... which, after listening to our endless tirade, they moved... so we separated.

After walking around and buying a little bit of titbits here and there to fill our unsatisfied tummies, we decided to go to starbucks, where we finally uncovered the cake that Seashell and YT had been holding all evening.

Special dark chocolate, rum and dark pitted cherry 6-inch cake from Awfully Chocolate.

The cake. Plain without decorations, but delicious looking ^^
Photo snapping time... Me trying to stop the wind from blowing out the 2 candles... heheh... we spot an intruder on the left side... oooh... its YT... *cackles*

Extremely Extremely LOUD birthday song... which caused every single Starbucks customer to swivel around and stare *blush*.... followed by a quick birthday wish and blowing the candles b4 the wind had the chance to. The poor cake was rather melted, which brought out the taste of rum rather strongly.... but the chocolate was very good ^^ Called my bro and asked him to head over quickly to eat his slice of cake; he had to abandon his half eaten spaghetti at PastaMania and rush upstairs to eat his cake.

Then it rained... fortunately after we had packed the remaining cake and pushed it onto Terence (my bro, duh) and asked him to share it amongst his own grp of frenz.

Then we did some additional shopping until Terence called and asked me to go to Swensens to have a slice of his cake... It was cookies n cream ice cream cake. Was totally bloated... but had to go and give him face... Since his friends asked him to invite me... No sense in giving cake to one twin and not the other right?

Swensens cake:

So in total... we had 3 birthday cakes~~!!! The cake from Awfully Chocolate which tasted totally awsome when finally put into the fridge when we headed home, the Swensens cookies n cream cake which was totally tasteless to me coz i was already too full to be in the mood for cake, and the cake that our mum bought for our birthday:

Total of 3 cakes...... its awsome to hv frenz!

But also totally fattening >_< !!!!
